about me
kate busatto goyal
When I’m not writing, I’m reading. You can check out my reading list here. I love swimming, cooking veggies & legumes, hitting the dance floor (any floor can be the dance floor), and chatting.
I have my M.Div from Yale and my BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon. I’m a 2025-26 Steinbeck Fellow at San Jose State University. I was a Tennessee Williams Scholar in Fiction at the 2025 Sewanee Writers’ Conference. I was Kenyon Review’s 2025 Developmental Editing Fellow in Fiction, and I’m heading to Gambier this summer for the KR Workshop. My story “Greyhound West” was a finalist in Narrative’s 2025 Spring Story Contest. I’ve worked as an undertaker, chaplain, bookseller, and developmental editor. I’m perpetually working on a novel.
I’m represented by Mina Hamedi at Janklow & Nesbit :)
